How To Make An Omelet

Easy Omelet Recipe

If you enjoyed last week’s stove top burgers recipe illustrations, then you’re in for another treat. The omelet is one of my all time favorite breakfast foods. It’s a simple recipe requiring little time and ingredients. This is a personal benefit to me, as I suffer from a multitude of food sensitivities!

The awesome thing about making an omelet is that it’s a recipe that’s pretty hard to mess up. Not only can it be cooked up in minutes, but the toppings in an omelet are entirely up to the maker. I for one, love my omelets loaded with ham, cheese, spinach and tomatoes. Green onions are also a great addition if you’re going for extra flavor!

Get out that cast iron skillet and whisk once you’re ready to start cooking! You may already notice a trend with me if you’ve read some of my previous recipes already. I prefer to do most of my cooking using extra virgin olive oil. You can of course use coconut oil if you prefer, but EVOO is my instant go to for this recipe.

Easy Omelet Recipe Instructions

Instructions

1.) Beat 3 eggs in a medium sized mixing bowl. Season with salt and black pepper. Add diced ham and tomatoes to the mixture and combine ingredients thoroughly.

2.) Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet or frying pan on medium – low heat. Make sure the oil covers most or all of the skillet in a single layer.

3.) Pour the omelet mixture in to the skillet and swirl the ingredients so that it covers most or all of the skillet’s surface evenly. Cook the omelet until the mixture starts to bubble at the edges, usually around 20-25 seconds. Use a rubber spatula to flip the omelet over.

4.) Once the omlete has been flipped over, you may add cheese on to half of it if you’d like. I like to include a bit of chopped green onions as well during the stage. By the time you have finished adding your additional toppings, fold the omelet over and using your spatula and transfer it over to a plate.

5.) Add additional garnish such as spinach, tomatoes and pretty much anytime of your choice. Bon appetit!
