How To Make French Toast

Easy French Toast Recipe

Well folks, I think it’s safe to say that I’m on a breakfast kick once more! It seems just like yesterday since I’d posted my recipe and illustration for crepes and avocado toast. Yet, here were again, with a very simple to follow recipe for French Toast! This is a recipe that I absolutely couldn’t go for too long without doing. Admitedly, there are a lot less steps to this than the crepes recipe.

As I mentioned in past posts, I really would like to stick to easier recipes if I can. If you care to know why I do this, it’s partially because there are a lot of people I know in life who still can’t cook. As of late, I’ve been inclined to believe that this is a pretty common issue in our current era. So much to do, so little time! I might as well help with the time part since I can!

Preparation

To start, you’re going to need a decent sized griddle to cook your French toast on. A skillet works as well, but a large sized grittle is preferred if you’re cooking more than 1 or 2 slices. Here’s a link to the griddle I use when I make French toast as well as when I cook for family when they’re in town.

Next thing on the list is going to be a good old whisk. This should be obvious enough. It’ll be needed for combining all of your ingredients together in a mixing bowl. With that, I think we’re ready to begin!

French Toast Cooking Instructions

Cooking Instructions

1.) In a medium bowl. Beat 4 eggs using a whisk. Combine milk, beaten eggs, cinnamon, vanilla extract, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl.

2.) Coat your griddle or skillet with butter and heat at medium-high temperature over the stove.

3.) Once the butter is heated, dunk a single slice of bread in to the egg and milk mixture. Make sure both sides of the bread are coated in the mixture before placing it on the skillet. 

4.) Cook the bread for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Flip the bread on its other side using a spatula and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Transfer cooked bread on to a plate. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all of the bread slices are cooked

5.) Serve with maple syrup and fresh fruit if you’d like. Enjoy!
